Vodafone acquired Eircell, to become Ireland’s leading mobile phone operation. Vodafone required a purpose-built interconnect settlement and billing system; one that was quick to market, easy to configure with low maintenance costs.

Solution

As the market leader in settlement software Intec had the experience and technology to guarantee a fully-integrated settlement solution with InterconnecT. In addition, Intec offered Vodafone InterconnecT PREP, which could take data from Vodafone’s mediation platform and prepare the information for the InterconnecT platform to read and process.

Working closely with the Intec team, Vodafone went live with InterconnecT and PREP within four months of starting the project. Intec also offered comprehensive training to the Vodafone team which eased the installation process.

Value Creation

Intec’s solutions have helped Vodafone secure a valuable portion of its annual revenue through more effective interconnect settlement. Vodafone can now estimate what its intercarrier partners are going to charge each month, and compare calculations to ensure it is not being overcharged for its services.

As a result of greater billing accuracy, the quality of Vodafone’s monthly financial reports have directly improved. Intec solutions have also helped Vodafone improve overall positive cash flow patterns by up to two weeks, instead of having to wait a month to calculate interconnect charges. InterconnecT allows Vodafone to get invoices out sooner.
