5. Can I check my details online?

Yes. Visit our registrars’ website to check your details.

6. I receive more than one set of Intec communications. How can I stop this?

Sometimes, if shares are bought at different times, the registration details given to Capita Registrars might differ slightly on each occasion (for example, Mr John Smith or Mr John James Smith). This can result in our Registrar opening two accounts with slightly different details. This in turn leads to the duplication of shareholder communications. If your shareholding is duplicated in this way, please contact the Registrars.

7. How can I avoid unsolicited mail from Intec?

Currently, the company is required to report shareholder details, such as the name of the registered holder and address to the Registrar of Companies annually. This report is a public document. While the law is changing to limit the amount of personal information provided, it will be some time before the records no longer show such information. The company is legally obliged to make its register of members available to certain other organisations, and where possible we restrict the information provided and try to ensure that the receiver does not misuse it.

Nonetheless, you may receive mail you have not asked for. If you want to limit the amount of personally addressed unsolicited mail you receive, please write for information and an application form to the Mailing Preference Service, Freepost 22, London W1E 7EZ or ring 08457 034 599.

8. What do I need to do if I get married or change my name?

If you are a private shareholder, please write to Capita Registrars, giving:

  • The name(s) of the company(ies) in which you hold shares.
  • Full details of both your old and new names. Please ensure that you give your old name in exactly the form in which it is recorded on the Register of Shareholders - this can be seen on your share certificate or dividend counterfoil.
Note - if you have more than one certificate for shares in the company, it could well be that your personal details are recorded differently on each certificate.
  • Your Investor Code - which can be found on your share certificates or dividend counterfoil.

Enclose:

  • Share certificate(s) representing your total holding plus one of the following as appropriate:
      An original Marriage Certificate
      An original Deed Poll
A Statutory Declaration is acceptable if it bears both your old and new signatures.

If a married woman wishes to revert to her maiden name after divorce the registrars will require:

  • A copy of the decree absolute together with her marriage certificate (to confirm her previous name), or
  • A copy of the decree absolute together with her birth certificate if the marriage certificate is not available

9. How do I report the death of a shareholder?

The documentation required to register the death of a shareholder is dependant on the type of shareholding. Please write to Capita Registrars stating:

  • The full name of the shareholder, as shown on each of their share certificate(s).
  • The name of the company in which they hold shares.

If the account is held solely in the name of the Deceased, enclose one of the following:

  • Sealed copy Grant of Probate or Letters of Administration.
  • For Scottish residents the equivalent document is a Certificate of Confirmation.
  • Share certificate(s) representing total holding.

Alternatively if Probate (or the equivalent) is not being sought due to the small value of the estate, you can apply to use a Small Estate Procedure, providing the total value of the UK estate is under £20,000 and the total value within the estate of shares is under £10,000. If you require the Small Estates forms for completion, please contact our Shareholder Helpline on 0870 162 3100.

If the account was held jointly with another person then enclose:

  • Death Certificate.
  • Share certificate(s) for amendment.

10. How can I transfer my shares to a friend or relation?

In order to carry out a private share transfer, download a Stock Transfer form from our registrars website.
