Business Requirement
Eurotel Praha, the largest provider of voice and data services in the Czech Republic – a country with 90% mobile penetration - was looking to sustain customer growth with the launch of IP based value-added services. Growing, complex network requirements therefore required a mediation platform flexible enough to support a wide geographical operation, avoiding duplication of costs over multiple platforms and, most importantly, future-proof to support the launch of new IP services. Developing an in-house platform was not an option: too costly and labour intensive.
Solution
Thanks to Intec’s advanced Inter-mediatE architecture, no time is wasted sifting through network data not needed for billing; this has helped reduce the cost of collection and the volume of data being processed. IP data volumes alone are 15 times higher than those from traditional fixed networks, and not all data is required for billing. Through data reduction capabilities Eurotel has saved time by using Inter-mediatE to automatically filter unwanted information and to only collect data required for accurate invoicing.
Value Creation
Eurotel initially licensed Inter-mediatE to support 20m EDRs per day, but this has already been extended to 35 million. Eurotel is therefore able to offer IP mobile services to all its customers, over 4 million users across the country.
‘With Inter-mediatE we will gain a future-proof product that has all the necessary flexibility and scalability to run our voice, data and IP operations.’
