Intec, a global provider of business and operations support systems (BSS/OSS), today announced that Brazilian telecom operator CTBC has selected its mediation platform, Inter-mediatE v5, for multi-service mediation of its fixed, mobile and long distance traffic.
CTBC will also use Inter-mediatE’s correlation manager and duplicate manager for CDR correlation and duplicate checking.
“We chose Intec’s mediation platform over its competitors because it was the best solution in terms of cost benefit and has a strong focus on operational cost reduction,” said José Antonio Fechio, IR and Interconnection Director of CTBC. “Inter-mediatE’s Rapid Development Environment was also key in making our final decision as it will allow us to deliver new services quickly, helping us improve customer satisfaction and keep up with a constantly evolving market. By implementing Inter-mediatE, we will be able to centralize our data collection processes and increase our operational efficiency.”
Inter-mediatE will be used for voice and data mediation for CTBC’s fixed and mobile business, collecting data from its TDMA, CDMA, WAP, GSM and GPRS networks. CTBC will use Inter-mediatE’s correlation functionality to comply with Brazilian correlation regulations.
“Intec is the only mediation vendor that has proven experience with correlation management in the Brazilian market, having several large operators already using this functionality,” said Per Martell, Intec’s CALA Regional Director. “In today’s market, operators must focus more on service bundling in order to remain competitive, thus making correlation increasingly important.”
Inter-mediatE is a market leading, award winning, multi-service mediation solution that currently processes 1 billion events per day at one of the world’s top 5 carriers. More than 220 service providers currently use Inter-mediatE for their mediation needs. Inter-mediatE’s scalability and assured revenue processing lead to a low cost of ownership that addresses the financial and operational challenges that every operator in today’s market must face.
