Intec Drives African Market for InterconnecT Bureau Services

16 February 2009 - BBCOM will derive immediate benefit from Intec’s market-leading InterconnecT technology through driving down the costs of its wholesale business for a limited investment.

London/Barcelona, February 16th 2009 – Intec, a global provider of business and operations support systems (BSS/OSS), announced today a contract to provide InterconnecT bureau services for BBCOM, one of Benin’s leading mobile operators. BBCOM will derive immediate benefit from Intec’s market-leading InterconnecT technology through driving down the costs of its wholesale business for a limited investment. The deal makes Intec the undisputed leader in the African wholesale billing market, with close to 40 operators now using Intec technology. The system is delivered with support of the Ibex group through Intec’s service bureau which affords emerging operators with a compelling economic model, enabling them to “pay as they grow”.

BBCOM is one of five operators in the highly competitive Benin market where interconnection, while representing a key source of potential revenues, is also a significant cost factor for emerging market players The Intec Service Bureau, run by experienced local partner Ibex, will give BBCOM essential competitive edge by delivering accurate invoices, vastlyimproved interconnection costs, the ability to easily solve existing billing disputes while delivering immediate ROI.

The Intec Service Bureau will also offer BBCOM a future smooth transition path to an in-house dedicated system where the implementation is fully reusable.
