Barcelona/Atlanta/London - Intec, a global provider of business support systems (BSS) solutions, announced today an agreement with mobile communications provider TerreStar Networks Inc., a majority-owned subsidiary of TerreStar Corporation (NASDAQ: TSTR), to supply the wholesale operator with the Intec Roaming Solution. Designed to work with both existing and next-generation roaming services, Intec’s Roaming Solution will provide TerreStar a best-in-class method to generate cash flow through the prompt invoicing of roaming partners.
In 2009, TerreStar successfully launched TerreStar-1, the world’s largest, most powerful communications satellite and introduced the TerreStar™ GENUS™, the first integrated satellite-terrestrial 3G smartphone. By reaching these key milestones, TerreStar will provide critical communications services when terrestrial networks are unavailable; thereby ensuring true network ubiquity and reliability for coverage across North America. Leveraging a collaborative working relationship with Intec since 2007, Intec will provide its roaming solution to TerreStar, as a multi-year managed service from its data centre in Atlanta. This will enable TerreStar to focus on service launch and the development of key commercial partnerships rather than establishing in-house back-end billing and BSS programmes.
